How do you blog?
![]() |

Major hiatus... Major shocker...
So I've had major writer's block that may or may not continue, we shall have to see. But at least for today, I wanted to think about something outloud. How do you blog?
I personally dream of being a regular blogger with something wonderful and interesting to say and share everyday. Or even every week. Every month? Han are you still there? It's me, your lonely blog.
But I love to slowly glean ideas from other creative people out there. Like those who manage to organize their thoughts and share long paragraphs and delightful pictures. Or the people who share a blog with a friend and use it to communicate ideas. Or the ones who simply post a picture of a random happening in their day.
How about you? What are your favorites? How do you blog?

Face This
Hi Friends!
Today I want to talk about skin care, mainly for your face. What is your favorite face wash?
I'm in love with all things Neutrogena. I've recently been using their Naturals Purifying Facial Cleanser. I love how it doesn't have a slew of extra chemicals in it.
I also like the Oil-Free Acne Wash. For keeping the the rest of me clear, I'm a big fan of their Body Clear Body Wash.
My dilemma lies with moisturizers. I am very much a member of the oily skin team. Add that to my bad habit of not moisturizing and my skin feels the need to double its oil production to make up for it. So I'm looking for a good oil-free moisturizer to try. I'm thinking of trying this one by Neutrogena, my go-to brand, but I'd love to hear what your favorites are and why you like them.
While writing this, I tried out this clay mask by Freeman.

I picked up a sample while shopping with a friend and I may have to back for a full tube. I love how it went on creamy, dried pretty quickly, and washed off easily. It also doubled as aromatherapy with the invigorating mint and lemon scent. Chilling out with a green face for awhile is also fun. ^_^
So tell me your skin care favorites! Go!

Home Biz
Like most people, I would love to own a home business. I've got almost everything I'd put into a home office picked out. Like these amazing accessories from See Jane Work :
Now all I have to do is figure out what kind of business to have. ;)
How about you? How would you decorate a home studio? What are your must haves? What would you splurge on and what would you budget on?
I've also scoured different setups for a home studio. You can check out my favorites HERE.

New Look?
So have all my fellow Blogger users noticed the new Dynamic view options? Some of them are kind of piquing my interest but I'm a little hesitant. What are your thoughts?

Coffee Break - The Right Time
Coffee
Break
"The
Right Time"
"The
steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his
way." Psalm 37:23
Often
when we think about our steps being ordered, we think in terms of
"where" they are ordered. As in the Lord ordering our
steps in this direction or that direction, to this place or that
place. But His ordering of our steps also means "when"
they are ordered. Our steps are ordered to go at a particular
time as well as to a particular place.
I
know from experience that there have been times I knew the Lord was
leading me in a matter, or I needed to be at a certain place, but I
could not seem to get there when I started to go. Obstacles and
hindrances kept coming in my way. When I finally did "get
there", the timing could not have been any more perfect. I
did not arrive at my destination one minute early or one minute late,
but just at the right time.
We
need to learn how to rest in the fact that our steps as believers are
truly ordered by the Lord. He orders them where to go, but He
also orders them when to go. Let me make it clear that I am not
talking about laziness- just sitting back and never moving forward at
all. I am talking about resting in the fact that as you are
following the Lord, He will direct your steps to be where they need
to be and when they need to be there. A perfect example is the
story of Jesus and Lazarus. Jesus received word that Lazarus
was ill and his sisters asked for Jesus to come and heal him.
Jesus did not go immediately, as He had at other times when requested
by someone to come and heal a person. He waited four days then
He went. By that time Lazarus had already died. Both of
Lazarus's sisters accused Jesus concerning His timing for
coming, "Lord,
if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died".
In other words, "If You had come sooner he would still be alive,
but You are late. Jesus was never late- or early, for that
matter- Jesus was always on time. In our scheme of things Jesus
was late, in God's scheme of things He was right on time. As a
result of His waiting, yes, Lazarus died, but a greater miracle took
place that day. And it happened because the Father ordered
Jesus' steps, not just to the right place but to the right place at
the right time.
The
timing may look "off" to you, but just know that our time
is not God's time and if we follow His timing, it will always be the
"right time".
Have
a great day. The Lord orders our steps to "where"
they need to be, and "when" they need to be there.

Special people can make a difference
Thank you so much for spending the week with me! Today's final organization supports those precious people with an extra chromosome. Such beautiful and talented people they are! Please visit here to learn more.

I will remember you, will you remember me?
Memories. Such fond things to have. True there are some we'd all like to sweep under a rug somewhere. But how privileged we should feel to be able to have any at all. Senior citizens suffering from Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia may forget loved ones or even their own name.
Take to the time to remember one of your fondest memories, then check out this organization and help support their efforts.

Please join me tomorrow for the week's end, where I highlight an organization supporting some of the world's most special people.

Be the one. Save a life.
Peer pressure. It's everywhere oppressing every age.
"Come on, do it. Everyone else is. You'll be cool if you do."
Exact wording may vary, but I'm positive this phrase has been put to you before.
Unfortunately, it's no longer just about wearing the same skirt or listening to the same music as the "cool people." Now it's doing harmful things to yourself to be like them. But you can be the one who stands up and says no or goes to the extra mile to encourage a friend to do the same.
Please visit this organization which is in memory of a young girl who died from inhaling aerosols. The website also includes several other links for further research if you want to know more.

Humans are not cars
Today's post is to highlight some organizations that are battling human trafficking. It is a horrible practice and the first time I heard of it, it made me sick. When I heard it was happening right here in the U.S. I was horrified. Please take the time to check out these organizations and support their wonderful efforts. No human, U.S. or not, deserves to be treated like property for any reason.

Children are the future...
Thank you so much for joining me this week! I hope and pray that you are successfully made aware of some of the problems and issues people are facing today and possibly even come out of this week with an organization that you would like to support.
Please understand that the organizations highlighted this week have in no way compensated me nor do I think they are any better than others. They are simply ones that I have been blessed to either personally come in contact with or have heard about from multiple settings. Feel free to let me know of any that I have not heard of. Help spread awareness in any way you can!
Today's organization is called Invisible Children. I first heard of them when they came to my college and showed us a film about child soldiers in Uganda. I was immediately broken-hearted for the young faces I saw. I cannot even imagine having a family member fighting in war, much less one under the age of 10.

People
People. "The entire body of persons who constitute a community, tribe, nation, or other group by virtue of a common culture, history, religion, or the like." (As defined by Dictionary.com)
Too often we get caught up in our busy lives with our busy schedules and our busy this and our busy that. It's all about us and people like us and how we can fulfill our needs and wants.
Too often we get caught up in our busy lives with our busy schedules and our busy this and our busy that. It's all about us and people like us and how we can fulfill our needs and wants.
We see and interact with people like this everyday.
But what about people like this.
Or this.
Or this.
Are these people any less important than us? Don't these people deserve our attention and help as well no matter the nature of their particular need? Please come back next week, starting Monday, as I highlight some organizations who are seeking to help people like this from around the world.

So long, farewell, Auf wiedersehen, good night...
So long my dear friends. I've really enjoyed your company.
But fear not dear ones! As soon as my stomach ulcer heals, I will reintroduce you slowly into my life. You may only be able to visit once in a while, and you may have to take turns. But a little of you is better than none of you at all.
XOXOXOXO

Against Bullying
I saw this on a friend's facebook status. Please repost or share it some other way. Save a life.
"The girl you just called fat? She is overdosing on diet pills. The girl you just called ugly? She spends hours putting makeup on hoping people will like her. The boy you just tripped? He is abused enough at home. That man with the ugly scars? He fought for our country. That guy you just made fun of for crying? His mother is dying. Put this on your status for an hour, if you are against bullying. ---Save a life. National Suicide Prevention Week"

One man's trash...
I got to spend the day with one of my bf's, Abbie. We are college buddies and I was pumped when her husband (Sean) got a job near my city. We were proud of ourselves as we "actually did things" which included some flea markets, a couple of our favorite stores and of course a few snacks (mmmm doughnuts and snoballs). Here are a few highlights/times that remembered I had a camera on my phone.
Some fun little plaques at Marshalls
Some hilarious signs at a flea market
We were fascinated with these old postcards we found at another flea market. It was really interesting to read them, especially the one a soldier sent to his buddy on Pearl Harbor.
What do you do on "hang-out with friend" days?

Useless As A Trapdoor In A Canoe...
We've all heard them. Those phrases that people throw into conversations that make your brain do a double take and separate the people who are really listening from the people who are just nodding until the speaker shuts up. Most of the time, I get a really big kick out of them and am still giggling several days later when re-sharing the hilarious tidbit.
"like a cow pissin on a flat rock"
"finer than frog hair"
"like white on rice"
What are some of your favorites?

Cozy Up With A Good One
As usual, inspiration came today with a little help. I was flipping through a Real Simple magazine, a.k.a my crack, and came across an article on "the most beautiful book you have ever received." Naturally my imagination took off. A warm, breezy day with a stack of gently worn favorite books and a blanket. A beautiful first edition with an inspiring inscription written in elegant calligraphy. And on and on.
From there I hopped on Google to browse websites for first editions. (AbeBooks is good place to start.) I'm thinking they would make fabulous gifts. It was quite shocking to see just how much some go for and a little amusing to see that I unknowingly had a couple on my shelf which I paid mere cents for at used book stores. Note to self: save those.
I came full circle when checking in at my favorite blogs to read. Today, Joanna at A Cup of Jo sent her readers down memory lane remembering their favorite bedtime books. I recognized a few of her offered examples and remembered a few of my own.

Warning Labels SHOULD Be Considered!

One of my favorite blogs to read is A Cup Of Jo. The writer, Joanna Goddard, is amazing and easily draws you in with her cheeriness! Her post today mentions a website called Baby Name Voyager, which tracks the popularity of baby names in past years. She shared it with the warning of addiction. I should have listened... ;)
Hope you enjoy it too!
